Large Deck and Stairs

After being let down by a previous contractor, we stepped in to complete a large deck for this client. Taking over after another contractor is always challenging, but we approached it step by step and successfully finished the job. During our inspection, we found that the prior contractor had installed a couple of joists flat, which caused installed deck boards to buckle underfoot. We rectified this by properly installing the joists before adding the deck boards. Additionally, we installed a railing system to separate our client's deck from the neighbor's and a new staircase and railing leading down to the seawall. The existing staircase had been rotting and was unstable due to the continuing crashing of unusually high tides. To minimize the height difference from the staircase to the seawall platform we created a concrete step. We then installed prebuilt aluminum stairs from the seawall to the private beach for improved access.
